Is Buying Gold As An Investment Wise

Lately, gold as an investment has become a hot commodity. The ever-rising prices of gold have turned them into the best investment option. Though one can put the money in this expensive metal without any type of fear but still one must have some knowledge about this precious yellow metal.

There are concerns amongst investors when buying gold, just as there are concerns when putting money into any investment asset. However, many of these have benefits. When prices of the metal rise when the dollar goes down. These two have the inverse relationship between them. The weaker dollar or the unstable stock market makes it more expensive. So, most of the people like to invest in gold instead of the other sources. The stock market doesnt remain stable all the time and also makes for the unsecured investment. On the other hand, the expensive metals procure their value and mostly provide the good returns.

Gold is also liquidity and ease to sell. Buy gold coins to increase the returns value. These usually have the numismatic value and are more expensive than the bars. Over the time these yield more value than any other commodity. The historical coins never go for less if maintained in the perfect condition. Also these can be sold very easily owing to the higher liquidity.
When investors buy physical gold, they are reserving wealth by buying gold coins and bars. Gold coins give the opportunity to preserve the wealth from the economic downturn or inflation. These have the intrinsic value so one can rely on them during the adverse situations also. They wont become valueless under any circumstances. The yellow metal also doesnt rust and one can keep them safely in a secure storage safe.

Financial future security is another key fundamental when buying gold as an investment. Gold has proven to provide one of the best financial security for the future. As one can keep them for a long period of time because the metal doesnt deteriorate with time so it makes the future of the person secure. The financial security also gives the peace and prosperity in life.

How Trojan Horse Viruses Can Attack Your Computer

A trojan Horse virus is so called because of its reference to the Greek legend of Troy. The legend goes that a large wooden horse was left outside the gates of Troy as a peace offering from the Greeks, whom the trojans were at war with. Once inside, the horse burst open to reveal Greek soldiers who then destroyed the city.

trojan Horse viruses are similar because they appear to be a harmless program but once installed on your computer can wreak havoc with a number of viruses potentially hidden in its code. There is a slight difference between a Trojan Horse and an actual computer virus however. Unlike typical computer viruses, a Trojan Horse does not replicate itself.

One type of Trojan is known as Spyware. This type of program is designed to monitor your Internet surfing habits and use that information for things such as targeted marketing.

Another common problem that Trojan cause is the installation of a backdoor. This means that hackers have a hidden entrance to your computer in which they can send you spam, take control of your computer, or even destroy it. These types of Trojans can be very hard to detect and eradicate.

How Trojans are Distributed

You may be wondering how to protect yourself against Trojans. The first line of defense is knowing how they are distributed.

One of the most common ways is via a useful program such as a computer utility. Once you run the program with the hidden Trojan it can do what it wishes with your computer. Another common way to get a Trojan is through an email attachment. Many people receive executable files through email and don’t think twice about running it on their computer. Once the program is run, you have a Trojan. If you ever get an attachment with an .exe at the end make sure you run a virus scan before opening it.

It is even possible to embed an image with a Trojan. Once you view the picture the Trojan has invaded your computer. It is best to never open files, regardless of type, if you don’t know where they came from. Even well-meaning friends can accidentally email you an attachment which contains a Trojan.

Trojans often take advantage of your computer’s operating system and ports which connect it to the Internet. Some Trojans even allow others to take remote control over your computer and steal keystrokes which may just be your credit card number.

Fighting Trojans

Other than being wary of what you open and install, the best defense is an up to date anti-virus program. It is important that you ensure your anti-virus software is always current since new viruses come out each day. You can typically download free updates from the software provider. You should also ensure you have a firewall to protect you while online.

Darkroom Photography – Getting Started Guide

These days, developing film and making prints in a darkroom seems a little outdated. Why spend time in a dark, smelly room working to get the perfect print when you can upload them and photoshop them to perfection? Theres no arguing that digital is more convenient and is growing increasingly flexible as camera capabilities and software options improve, but sometimes its fun to break it down to the basics and spend a little time in the dark. If youve never ventured into the darkroom before, this is your guide to getting started.
We won’t mention getting supplies or developing your film and instead will focus on the process of developing your print.

Printing With an Enlarger

An enlarger is exactly what it sounds like a machine that makes your tiny squares of film into large, printed photographs. It does this by projecting light through your film and on to the surface of your photo paper where the light sensitive chemicals are exposed.

In order to create a print, you will have to line up the frame with your enlarger’s light source, then project it onto a blank mat and make sure it’s properly focused by adjusting the knob on the side. Most darkrooms have magnifying glasses lying around; make sure you can clearly see the grain of your image. You need to play with the exposure timing to make sure the image turns out okay, then you should be just fine.

The Chemicals

Once youve decided on the correct timing and exposed a full photograph, its time to get your hands dirty. Darkroom chemicals have a smelly and distinct odor and will ruin any clothing they come in contact with so make sure to wear an apron or wear old ratty clothes. The chemical process can be broken down into four steps:

1. Developer Soak your paper, which will still be completely white, in the developer. This chemical will activate the photo paper and over the course of a few minutes youll start to see your image come through. If you don’t like the contrast or exposure, just head back to the enlarger and get another piece of photo paper and adjust your timing. Once you have a print you like and it’s done developing, move it to the stop bath for a soak.

2. Stop Bath The stop bath will prevent your image from developing any further by neutralizing the chemicals found in the developer. If you have ever been in a dark room, the stop bath is the distinct smell you probably remember. If you want to make sure your print is done sitting in the stop bath, rub your fingers on the paper to see if it will squeak. If it squeaks, then you know the chemicals have been properly stopped. This should only take a few short minutes.

3. Fixer While the stop bath will stop the effects of the developer chemicals, your paper will still be sensitive to light exposure. Fixer is the last chemical in the process so once your print has soaked in this, it can be exposed to light without ruining the image. You don’t need to soak your prints in fixer for very long- usually about 5-10 minutes depending upon the paper and chemicals.

4. Rinse Naturally youll want to rinse your photos of all the harsh chemicals youve soaked in them. Most dark rooms have a sink and a rinsing tub with a continuous flow of water so you can leave your print there as long as it takes to remove all of the chemicals. While waiting, this is a great time to print other pictures from your negatives!

Once youve enlarged, developed, stopped, fixed, and rinsed your images, set them out to dry in a safe place and come get them the next day. Don’t forget to rinse your prints well because if you don’t, your photographs will turn brown over time from the chemical residue left on the print. Pick up your dry prints and put them in a heavy book or photo press to straighten them out. After that, your prints are ready to frame.

The darkroom can seem intimidating, but once you have a bearing on the process you will enjoy printing your own images. Its a great way to get away from the world for a little while and focus on your art (bring a radio if you can) and provides you infinitely more control over your final images than having someone else print them. Just remember to ask around before turning on the lights!

Medicare Eligible. Can My Adult Child Stay On My Work Insurance

I am 64 years old. I still work and have my health insurance through my job, but I am thinking about enrolling in Medicare around my 65th birthday, regardless of whether I retire or not. If I do that, can my child stay on my work’s insurance plan? He is 23 years old, and a full time student with a part time job that does not offer health insurance. I am worried about what will happen to him if I go elect Medicare coverage.

The short answer is no. Your child cannot stay on your work health plan if you are not enrolled in the plan. This is very common situation as Health Care Reform has expanded the age of dependents for health insurance purposes.

Prior to the new health insurance law, adult children were generally ineligible to stay on their parent’s plans beyond 19 years old, but Obamacare has changed the age to 26. The effect of this change is that millions of young adults have been able to maintain health insurance coverage through their parent’s health plan. The downside to this is that many parents find themselves eligible for Medicare (click here for Medicare Explained) but unable to participate without leaving their adult children uninsured.

What to do? Your adult children should buy an individual health insurance plan of their own. It was never a great solution for them to be on your health insurance plan to begin with, as we describe in this post. And, effective January 1, 2014, there are even more reasons:

1) There will be premium assistance credit’s available, on a sliding scale, to those who’s income falls within Federal Poverty Levels. This applies to many young adults just starting careers, finishing college and graduate school, or who are unemployed.

2) Individual health insurance plans now offer Affordable healthcare act summary , which drastically improves coverage and the need to pay for health expenses out of pocket.

3) There may be tax implications to your child on your health plan, if they are non-dependent for tax purposes. What is the impact on HSA’s, click here.

Lastly, and this is not a new reason, but it is the best reason: you and your adult child are at different stages of life and have MUCH different health care needs. Your health insurance plan should be different than your child’s health plan for the best, most affordable health care for all of you.

Ancient History Of Yoga

Ancient History of Yoga

Although yoga has only recently become more popular in the west, the practice of yoga has been used in the east for thousands of years. The history of yoga begins in the times of ancient Indian asceticism, which was found in the Indus Valley civilization which existed in 3300 to 1700 BC. When examining historical sites where there are ruins with figures in artwork and on walls, the history of yoga can be seen since there are often figures that are in positions that are distinctly yoga poses that are still used today. There are other picture histories that show many different yoga activities that confirm the history of yoga in this, very ancient, civilization.

The Next Civilizations

There are some other practices of yoga mentioned in the Vedas, which are found in 800 to 100 BC and are still used in different meditations. The history of yoga continues into the recent times as the practice of the different forms of yoga has been refined and reconfigured throughout the ages.

There are many different types of yoga that have been passed down through the years in the history of yoga. There is the Hatha yoga style which is usually slow paced and gentle in comparison to other styles and is a good introductory style for users to practice when beginning. There is also the Vinyasa style of yoga in the history of yoga. This type of yoga provides a combination of the yoga poses and the breathing techniques that are practiced in this form of yoga. This style is a little more vigorous than the Hatha style, and there are some combined poses that follow one after another in a series. One common series is called the Sun Salutation, which is often used in repetition to warm up or warm down in a yoga class.

Another style of yoga in the history of yoga is called the Iyengar style, which emphasizes not just the poses, but also the alignment of the body in the poses to make sure that the person is doing them correctly. The Kundalini style is one that uses the breathing method of rapid breaths in conjunction with the physical poses to create a freeing of the energy in the body, thus making it healthier. Finally, there is the style of yoga that is called Bikram yoga, which is practiced in very hot conditions and is very vigorous. The room should be about 95 to 100 degrees so that the participants sweat a lot to let out toxins.

FIFA again bans Iraq from hosting friendlies

FIFA on Wednesday barred Iraq from hosting international football friendlies due to a massive surge in nationwide violence, barely three months after world football’s governing body gave Baghdad the go-ahead.

The Iraqi Football Association (IFA) was informed of the ban in a notification from FIFA, which cited a spike in unrest that has left more than 2,500 dead from April through June and at least 123 killed in the first three days of July alone.

“Today, we received a notification from FIFA to stop hosting any friendly matches in stadiums in Iraq at the current time, and until further notice, due to the wave of violence,” said Naim Saddam, an IFA official.

“This is regrettable.”

FIFA in March lifted a ban on Iraq hosting international football friendlies and the country promptly staged a match with neighbouring Syria in Baghdad’s Shaab stadium just days later, with the national side subsequently facing off with Liberia.

The initial friendly had marked a key step in Iraq’s re-emergence on the world stage after decades of conflict and sanctions.

But the country has been hit by a marked increase in violence since, with recent attacks also targeting football pitches and cafes where Iraqis were watching the sport on television.

In June alone, more than 60 people were killed in at least 10 bombings targeting pitches and cafes, according to an AFP tally.

Choosing The Right Care Home Furniture

Setting up a care home can be a daunting yet exciting experience; however there is one further thing to consider – choosing the right furniture.

Care home furniture must fulfil a wide range of needs, from looking and feeling comfortable and enticing – to being highly functional and durable. The best furniture you can choose covers all of these factors and more, allowing residents (who are often scared and worried at having to move) feel at home; as well as safe and secure.

The first thing to consider is the chairs you’ll place in the living area of the home, as it is useful if the reflect the chairs one might find in a residents’ house. These are generally high-backed, neutrally colour and furled armrests. These should also have ergonomic qualities, as residents will typically be sat in them for a large portion of time.

There are times, such as when the patient is ill or has a turn, where you will need to extract them from the chair easily, causing the minimum amount of distress. Specially-made care home furniture is usually adapted to meet this need, but it s worth having a trail-run before signing on the dotted line. Additionally, chairs should ideally be wipe-clean, so that any accidents are easily taken care of, with minimal impact on the furniture.

Secondly, the furniture found in care home bedrooms is equally important, as it should be comfortable and simple to use. As care homes are generally built with the aim of making them feel like a real ‘home’, furniture can sometimes be less sturdy or durable; but this is something you should avoid at all costs, as your furniture needs to be able to last for years, and be capable of withstanding added pressure from those residents who are less mobile.

Lastly, and perhaps most importantly, care homes should be a place of peace and tranquillity, allowing vulnerable adults to live out their last days in peace. The best piece of advice is to make it look as homely as possible, without letting the medical aspect overrule it.
